Policy on the Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
Global IQ is a contract research organization. Consistent with our obligations as systems professionals, we are dedicated to maintaining high standards of confidentiality with respect to the information that is provided to us. This Policy Statement has been prepared to inform you of our practices concerning the collection, use and disclosure of information provided to Global IQ.
Professional Relationship
As a general rule, all information concerning the business and affairs of a person or organization acquired for the purpose of determining whether Global IQ will enter into a professional relationship or in the course of a professional relationship shall be held in strict confidence and not revealed to anyone unless expressly or implicitly authorized by the person or organization concerned. A professional relationship develops when Global IQ agrees to be retained to provide services to a particular individual or organization. In order to protect their own interests, individuals or organizations should not send confidential information toGlobal IQ until they have had a direct discussion with a professional at Global IQ regarding the retention of the Global IQ to provide services. Despite this general rule, there are circumstances where disclosure may be justified or permitted or, where we are obliged to disclose information without consent. To illustrate; these circumstances could include, where the information is known to the public, where required by law, where we believe, upon reasonable grounds, that there is an imminent risk to an identifiable person or group of death or serious bodily harm, where it is alleged that a member, associate or employee of Global IQ is guilty of a criminal offence; civilly liable in a legal action or guilty of malpractice or misconduct or where it is necessary to establish or collect fees. In such circumstances, we will not disclose more information than is required.
Global IQ collects only such information from individuals or organizations as is required for the purposes of providing our services to them. We do not sell, trade, barter or exchange any information obtained, including and especially any information obtained in the course of professional relationships.
Global IQ endeavors to maintain the accuracy of any information in its possession on active matters. Information contained in documents where a file has been closed, is not actively updated or maintained.
In the event of any question concerning the management of their information, clients should first address such questions to the CEO of Global IQ.
Global IQ endeavors to maintain adequate physical, procedural and technical security with respect to our offices and information storage facilities so as to prevent any unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.
Visiting the Global IQ Site
A visitor to the Global IQ web site is not required to reveal any individually identifiable information, such as name, address, or telephone number. Nor is such information collected passively by electronic means.
Our web server tracks general information about visitors such as their domain name (i.e. IP address) and time of visit. Global IQ's web site also collects and aggregates information regarding which pages are being accessed as well as information volunteered by visitors through online surveys. This information is used internally, only in aggregate form, to better serve visitors by helping us to manage our sites, diagnose any technical problems or improve the content of our Web site .

Data Collection
The Global IQ web site may collect data from its' users in the e-mails sent to us from our users or through automated means such as communications protocols and cookies.
Global IQ may receive data from you as part of the communication connection itself - the standard electronic greeting between your computer, the network, and our servers. This information often consists of network routing (where you came from), equipment information (browser type), date and time. At this time our server will also query your computer to see if there are cookies previously set by globaliq.com to facilitate log in or other site navigation procedures.
Some parts of the Global IQ site use cookies to collect information about visitors' use of the web site and to facilitate return visits. A cookie is a small piece of information sent by a web server to store on a web browser so it can later be read back from that browser. The information collected from cookies is tracked to enhance security and to improve the functionality of the web site by avoiding duplicate data entry, facilitating navigation, and increasing the relevance of content.
While we don't offer an opt-out on the site for cookies, web browsers provide you with information and control over cookies. You can set your web browser to alert you when a cookie is being used. You can also get information on the duration of the cookie, and to learn what server your information is being returned to. You then have the opportunity to accept or reject the cookie. Additionally, you may set your browser to refuse all cookies or accept only cookies returned to the originating servers. Users may generally disable the cookie feature on their web browser without affecting their ability to use the site, except in some cases where cookies are used as an essential security feature necessary for transaction completion.
In order to provide maximum site utility, Global IQ also uses a tracking technique that uses embedded Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) to allow use of the site without cookies. This is a standard way developed to specify the location of a resource available electronically. Embedded URLs manifest themselves as plain text or encoded extensions to the URL that appears in the web browser address or location toolbar. This technology allows limited information to follow you as you navigate the site, but is not identified to personal information and is not used beyond the session. While this increases your ability to surf the site, it does not replace the functionality or streamlining of cookies and may limit your use of many convenience features offered by the site.
Evolving Practices
This statement is in effect as of January 2004. Global IQ will from time to time review and revise its privacy practices and this Policy Statement. In the event of any amendment, an appropriate notice will be posted on www.globaliq.com. Policy changes will apply to the information and data collected from the date of posting and will not be applied to existing information held by Global IQ without the consent of the person or organization concerned.
